Signs of Fall

Our Fall Books!
Apples ripen in the fall.
We like to carve pumpkins.
Corn is harvested in the fall.
Turkeys say, "Gobble, gobble, gobble." We eat turkeys for Thanksgiving.
These were the cutest books ever!

Turkey Time

If you were wondering what happened with the feathers you decorated, well here they are!
Isn't he a cute turkey?

In preparing for Thanksgiving, I had the students draw and paint some turkeys.
First, they sketched a turkey with a pencil. Second, they traced it with black crayon. After that they colored it with crayons. Then they painted over their turkey with watercolor paint.

They created some cute turkeys and had fun in the process!

I hope you all enjoyed the fall books your students made.

Halloween

All of the first grade team dressed up like cowgirls.
Here is Miss Aurich's class with our sweet Grandma Anita. We were very excited for a day full of fun and festivities.
We also had Miss Burnett with us. She has been helping in our class for the past month.
Here are all the cute little witches, princesses, knights, superheroes, and more!
We got to parade through the school.
We made spiders....
witches' hands...
and mummies!

These girls were the fastest mummy makers. This mummy just twirled until she was all wrapped up! It was quite an exciting Halloween Day!!!

Pulling Teeth

So I've been observing and learning some tips from the pro-teeth puller (Mrs. Anderson) for the past couple of months. I would send my students to her when they needed teeth pulled. I've wiggled a few teeth, but I never succeeded in pulling out a tooth until a couple weeks ago. The cute redhead was my first victory in teeth pulling. Then within a minute (after seeing the first tooth pulled ) I pulled out the cute brunette's tooth. (I'm sorry if blood makes you squeamish.) These girls were very brave! It was a very proud moment for me!
